Happy New Year from The Blooms

Hi Everyone! Suzanna and I just wanted to send out a quick update.

First off, we have gotten a slight dusting of snow here (insert sarcasm)

The Green Machine sitting under a couple feet of snow

The Subaru wishing it was summer...

While our Midwest friends are dealing with "The Niño" in their own way, for us up at 7,300 ft our Spanish friend (El Niño) has delivered almost 250 inches of snow in just a couple of months - and we still have a long way to go. Our snow blower has gotten a lot of work in already and it has been quite the battle to keep our driveway, pathways and deck cleared. Even in our winter onslaught we feel fortunate to be surrounded by such beauty

And here are some other winter pics

Suz and I awkwardly hugging in front of our freshly cut 19 foot Christmas tree (it certainly didn't look that big in the snow)

Also here is this post's obligatory slow-mo video

Christmas Eve

In other news, we had another successful Christmas Eve service! It was an incredible blessing to host our community in a worshipful celebration of Jesus coming with grace into our broken world. It was a great opportunity for us to unpack the immense hope that comes from the Christmas story, stemming from a deep confidence that we have in a God who would chose to put on flesh for the sake of the world. This year was different because we had so much more help, with various ministry teams and volunteers stepping up and working hard to help put it together. We recruited more chairs and didn't run out this year, even with 100+ folks gathered in our little school space. Here are some pictures of that night.

Folks continue to filter in to their seats (you can tell this is Clark, CO from the amount of Elk antlers)
The worship band (some more off to the right)
This is what I look like when I kind of dress up

Family Time!

This year we made the wise decision not to leave right after our CE service for the Midwest to visit family. As some of you know, that didn't end well the last time we did that. Instead, we packed up our car and left after church service on Sunday the 27th and drove (what were we thinking) the 1,250 miles to Carmel, IN to spend some belated Christmas time with Suz's side of the family before heading to Geneva for a few days with my side before making the trek home. It was wonderful to see everyone and it was hard to leave family and friends. Although, a couple of weeks on an air-mattress will get you itching to be back home in your own bed (not that we weren't grateful!)

We were fortunate to make it out alive - luckily they we set to "stun"

The Blooms/Andrews (Carter thought something was funny). Also dad grew a pretty awesome beard in between visits.

Thank You

We also wanted to say THANK YOU to all of you who have been praying for us and who chose to help support us financially. We are over 50% funded for 2016! We still need some additional support for us to be fully funded for the next 11 months, however we have felt deeply blessed by your generosity and support. God is doing wonderful things in this community and we feel privileged to be a part of it. God is choosing to use you and your generosity to help us minister in this place and for that we praise God and are grateful to all who have partnered with us!

If you would like to partner with us financially, you can donate directly though our Razoo donation widget on the right hand side or click on our donation progress bar to be directed to our Razoo page for more information. If you would like further details on our support needs please look back at Octobers post for more detail.

Thank you and God Bless,

Dave & Suz
